Congress Award 2026. Call for nominations

The work of the expert committee to determine the best publications of 2025 has begun. The committee’s task is to recognize achievements in the social sciences, political science, and the humanities, as well as to promote their wider dissemination.

We invite researchers and all interested parties to submit nominations and contribute to the evaluation of achievements in Belarusian scholarship.

Proposals may be submitted to premija@palityka.org by June 30, 2026.

The official announcement of the best publications will take place on November 25, 2026, in Warsaw.

Based on the results of the committee’s work, three best publications will be selected in the following fields:

– History (monographs, articles);

– Humanities (monographs, articles);

– Social and political sciences (monographs, articles).

Publications from 2024 that were not previously nominated for the competition will also be considered.

In addition, in 2026 it is planned to select the best German-language monographs on Belarusian topics published over the past decade (2017–2025).

Awards for monographs written in foreign languages are granted to international researchers who are not connected to Belarus by origin or academic affiliation.

There is sustained academic interest in Belarusian topics in Germany, reflected in ongoing research, thematic seminars and conferences, as well as scholarship and translation programs. The selection of the best German-language monographs aims to strengthen and expand existing academic ties and to enhance awareness of recent research and developments related to Belarusian studies in Germany.

This year, the second award for German researchers in the history of the Congress will be presented. In 2017, the award for the best German-language monograph was given to the critical edition of Anton Luckevich’s Belarusian Grammar, prepared by Professor Hermann Bieder of the University of Vienna.
